New Favorite

Yesterday we visited Humayun’s tomb, which inspired the design of the Taj Mahal. I LOVED IT! It was such a large, grand, and beautiful building! The courtyard was the most tranquil place I’ve seen in Delhi, and the marble lattice “jalis” inside were breathtaking. My camera ran out of memory space because I was so in love with this structure. After touring the tomb, I got in a bit of trouble with the New Delhi police (literal whistle blown) for climbing on a nearby ancient structure…but there were stairs!! Even though we had to use our new Hindi vocab word (SORRY) a few times, the view of Humayun’s tomb from the top of the Sher Shah gate was worth it.
