Les Trois Anglais

On Sunday, my family hosted three of their British friends for a quick visit before they head down to the Castelli cottage in the South (casual South of France house, I know haha). It has been really nice to speak a bit of English and Hilar and I have been playing translator for Mary Paule, who speaks only bits and peices of English.
I was laughing yesterday thinking about the fact that many of the French people I have met have contradicted any preconceptions I had of France while 'les Trois Anglais' have cemented most of my stereotypes of Brits (in the most endearing ways possible). The three of them (from left to right) Allison, Francesca, and John, are hilarious and have rather biting senses of humor. John is also strictly opposed to exercise, and wished me his cynical best on my jog yesterday. Francesca, especially, a verdant protestor  of nuclear proliferation and advocate of peace practices has been a hoot to get to know - she is full of stories of protest organization and the flaws of the English system. I cannot wait to visit them with Mary Paule and Hilar in November!
