Another Day in Paradise

Saturday the REU's traveled to Elbow beach! We swam, chilled, and played beach tennis.  The pink sand was absolutely beautiful and the beach was practically empty.  Tourist season ends promptly at the end of August so we have the whole island practically to ourselves for the next three months.
Today was the first day I completed all of my "chores" independently.  I took care of my coral and started reading the scientific papers that will help me write my introduction.  I also got to talk to Emma last night too.  We have such opposite schedules (8.5 hours difference) that I stayed up until 1:30AM to talk to her.  I'm missing my roomies so much, but I am already getting excited to hear all of the incredible stories!  Off to concrete beach for my daily sunset swim.
