Orientation

Today was my first full day at BIOS and it was amazing!
We started out the day with some quick briefings about safety on campus and generally in Bermuda. Then we had a delicious lunch, which is always good.  The morning concluded with a tour of campus, that included the labs, dock, and offices at BIOS.  After a quick and delicious lunch, the REU interns and the other fall students headed out on the boat for a check out dive.

Jumping off of the boat for my first dive of the semester
We were required to perform a few tasks such as taking off our mask, retrieving our regulator, and buddy ascents. Once we had finished, we went on a quick dive around a coral head and through a coral arch.  It was incredible the clarity and beauty of everything around me.
I think we could get used to this
